Mr. Keesing was an old-fashioned teacher of Mathematics in Anne’s school. He was a very strict teacher by nature. He did not allow his students to talk in his class. Anne was a very talkative and extrovert girl. She always talked during his classes. He gave her several warnings, but she didn't listen to him.  When she did not stop talking, he punished her by giving her extra homework. He gave her three different topics to write - "A Chatterbox”, “An Incorrigible Chatterbox”, and “Quack, Quack, Quack, Said Mistress Chatterbox”. With the help of her friend,  she wrote all the compositions. In one of the essays, she wrote about a mother duck and a father swan with three baby ducklings who were bitten to death by the father because they quacked too much. Mr. Keesing was a keen observer. After reading her third essay, he understood the joke and changed completely. He was so impressed with her composition that he decided not to punish her ever. This highlighted that he was a sensitive and light-hearted person.

No, Mr keesing cannot be labelled as a strict teacher. Since, he only behaved strict with non- studious students and talkative students like Anne Frank. on the other hand he enjoyed Anne's creativity specially her self made poems and essays.
