How long will a passenger sitting at the window at a train travelling at a speed of 54 km/h see a train passing by in the opposite direction with a speed 36 km/h if the length of second train is 150 m

54 {tex}\times \frac{5}{18}{/tex} = 15 m/s
36 {tex}\times \frac{5}{18}{/tex} = 10 m/s
The relative speed of two approaching bodies is the sum of the two speeds.
In this case we have :
Relative speed : 15 + 10 = 25 m/s
Relative distance is 150 m
Time = {tex}\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Time}}{/tex}{tex}\frac{150}{25}{/tex}= 5
Time is therefore 5 seconds
