Chapter- applications of trignometry Suppose we are standing on one bank of river and a river is flowing in front of us. There is a tree on the other bank of river. We have measured the angle of allevation as 45 degree. We don't know any of the three sides. And we cannot cross the river to measure the base. So, how can we measure the base(the breadth of river) and the perpendicular(the height of tree) ?

Move opposite to tree and measure the distance from bank of river to where angle of elevation is 30,

Then breadth of river and height of tree can be calculated
