Let x be the current age of the son.

Son = x, Father = 3x

In 12 years

Son = x + 12, Father = 2(x+12) “OR” 3x + 12

2(x + 12) = 3x + 12
2x + 24 = 3x + 12
24 - 12 = x

Therefore, current age of son is 12, and father is 36.
