Because the molecules of solids is very closely to each other and there are no any blank space from which the molecules can not move.and these molecules have intermolecular forces.

In solid molecules are in fixed position and held together by intermolecular force .and although molecules are still vibrate in their mean position .they cannot move from one part to another in solid .thats why it have definite volume.
