We have,
x² + {tex}\frac{1}{x^2}{/tex} = 0
{tex} \Rightarrow{/tex} x⁴ - 1 = 0
{tex} \Rightarrow{/tex} x⁴ - 1 = 0
and (x⁴ - 1) is a polynomial of degree 4. It is also not in the form of {tex}ax^2+bx+c=0{/tex}
{tex}\therefore{/tex} Given equation is not a quadratic equation.
