9x2 - 3x - 2 = 0
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} 9x2 - 6x + 3x - 2 = 0
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} 3x(3x - 2) + 1(3x - 2) = 0
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} (3x - 2)(3x + 1) = 0
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} 3x - 2 = 0 or, 3x + 1 = 0 {tex}\Rightarrow \quad x = \frac { 2 } { 3 } \text { or, } x = - \frac { 1 } { 3 }{/tex}
Thus, {tex}x = \frac { 2 } { 3 } \text { and } x = - \frac { 1 } { 3 }{/tex} are the required roots of the given equation.
