x2 -3x - 10
x2 - 3x -10 + 9/4 -9/4 (we square the term obtained by dividing the coefficient of x by 2, after that we add and subtract the same in to the equation)
now, (x2 -3x + 9/4) -10-9/4
(x-3/2)2 - 49/4 = 0
(x-3/2)2 - (7/2)2 = 0
(x-3/2-7/2) (x-3/2 +7/2) = 0
(x-10/2) (x + 4/2)
x=5, -2 is the solution
