Since the net flux enclosed is equal to the one that left subtracted from the one that entered. So, ∆phi= 4*10^12-8*10^12 = -4*10^12 Nm^2/C Now according to Gauss Theorem, ∆phi= sigma q/epsilon zero i.e. Net electric flux = total charge/ permittivity of vacuum So, total charge = Net Electric Flux*Permittivity of vacuum Or sigma q= -4*10^12*8.85*10^-12 = -35.4 C
