Let, numerator = x Denominator = y x+y=8 x=8-y X + 3 over Y + 3 = 3 over 4 4x+12=3y+9 4(8-y)+12=3y+9 32-4y+12=3y+9 44-9=3y+4y 35=7y 35 over 7=y 5=y From above, x = 8-y x=8-5 x=3
