The anode is the electrode where oxidation (loss of electrons) takes place. The anode attracts anions. The cathode is the electrode where reduction (gain of electrons) takes place. The cathode attracts cations. But in electrochemistry➡ Anod is that terminal where oxidation occurs. Cathod is that terminal where reduction occurs.

Anode (+ve charge) is connected with positive terminal. Cathode (-ve charge) is connected with negative terminal.
