It was the time of depression in india during the first world war . The britishers force the indians to participatein the war as the solidies of England. In 1914 prices of goods fell by half which hit the peasents and tradesmen. All the men were gone to the warfare hence the women were left alone at home to cope up with the family. Hence the common people were hardly hit during first world war
