Let us assume that root 5 is rational root 5=a/b ( where a, b are coprimes ) root5b=a squaring on both sides, 5b2=a2 so, 5 divides both a and b a coprime doesn't divide two integers this has been arisen due to our wrong assumption that root 5 is rational so, root5 is irrational.
