Example: H2SO4 (sulfuric acid) contains two hydrogens or hydrogen ion 2H+and sulfate anion When sulfuric acid dissolves in water it produces Hydrogen ion or hydronium ion which is shown below Base: A Base is a substance which gives hydroxide ion OH-when dissolved in water. Example NaOH It is a base since it contains OH- ion or hydroxide ion.
