I think having faith in god is the students' own perception about the existance of god. The main moral that comes out at the end of the story, according to me is that we should not have any assumptions about others. Lencho's behaviour towards the post office people finally ended in probably causing pain to them. He was not even thankful to god who, according to him, had sent him the help of at least some amount that he had asked for.
