In Sri Lanka there are two types of tamils one is the native Srilankan who speak tamil and second is Indian tamils whose forefather had taken to Sri lanka as plantation workers

In Srilanka there are two types of tamils Srilankan and Indian Tamils.Certain Tamils in Srilanka are called Indian Tamils this is because their ancestors were from India who during Colonial Period were forced taken to srilanka as plantation workers.Their families lived there even after independence.
Most of indian tamils are from Tamilnadu who were Forced to migrate there.
