    • The surface that we choose for the application of Gauss’s law is called the Gaussian surface. The Gaussian surface can pass through a continuous charge distribution.
    • Gaussian surface is a closed surface in three dimensional space through which the flux of a vector field is calculated; usually the gravitational field, the electric field, or magnetic field.
    • The concept of Gaussian surface helps in evaluatig the electric field intensity due to symmetric charge distribution.
