Absolute Zero is defined as minimum absolute temperature of an ideal gas.

  • If we plot pressure versus temperature we get a straight line and if weextend the line backwards to the x-axis as shown in the graph below. The minimumtemperature is found to be 273.15 °C (experimentally) andthis value is known as absolute zero.
  • The relation between the temperature in kelvin and in Celsius scale is given by

T = tC + 273.15
