anti defection law -if a mla or mp changes party he or she will lose seat in legislature supreme court made it necessary for candidate to file an affidavit about their property and criminal cases pending against him. EC made it necessary for parties to hold regular internal elections and file their income tax returns. state funding of elections resrervation of seats for all positions for women

The following efforts have been made to reform political parties in India (i) The Supreme Court passed order to reduce the influence of money and criminals. (ii) The Constitution was amended to prevent MLAs and MPs from changing parties. (iii) The Election Commission passed an order making it necessary for political parties to hold their organisational elections and file their income tax returns.
