    Following are three features of federalism:

    1. In a federal structure of government, there are two or more levels or tiers of government.
    2. The different tires of the government govern the same citizens. However, each tier has its own jurisdiction in specific matters of legislation, taxation and administration.
    3. The Constitution of the country specifies the respective jurisdictions of the different tiers of government. Therefore, the existence and authority of each tier gets constitutionally guaranteed.

    1)TWO LEVELS —> Federal system involves two or more levels of govt operation...2) MUTUAL TRUST —> Federal system works on the basis of mutual trust and coexistence between the central and the provincial govt...3) BALANCE OF POWER —> Federal system works on the concept of balance of power between the central and the regional units.
