Scholar revolt was started in 1868 by the officials of the imperial court .It was started against the spread of christianity and colonial rule of french . In Ngu dien and hathim 1000s of catholics were killed the french government suppressed this movement but this movement inspired the many people to revolt against the colonial dominance of french
