The national movement made the national leaders aware that icons and symbols helped in unifying the people of the nation. Thus, during the Swadeshi movement in Bengal, a tricolour flag was designed. Its main features were:

  • The flag consisted of three colours—red, green and yellow.
  • It also had eight lotuses which represented the eight British provinces in India.
  • It had a crescent Moon which represented both Hindus and Muslims.
It was a tri colour flag having red green and yellow.It has eight lotuses which represented the 8 british proviences in india.it has a cresent moon which represents both muslims and hindus.

It was a tricolour having red ,green and white colour with a spinning wheel in the centre,representing Gandhi's idea of self help.It also had eight lotuses which represented the eight provinces in India. It had a crescent moon which represented both Hindus and Muslims.
