Tidal port - Kandla - hinterland( jammu and kashmir, himachal pradesh, punjab, gujarat, haryana)
Biggest well sheltered natural harbour - Mumbai
Subsidiary port - Jawaherlal Nehru
Premier iron ore exporting port - Marmagoa (50% iron ore exporting)
EAST COAST PORTS:
Tidal port and Riverine port - Kolkata- hinterland for ganga brahmaputra basin
Biggest and oldest artificial harbour - Chennai
Subsidiary port - Haldia (for Kolkata )
Iron ore exporting port - Vishakapatnam and Paradwip
