The conversion of forestland include the farms, ranches, or urban use.

Causes of deforestation

  • Trees are used for charcoal, fuel, timber,
  • The cleared land is used as pasture for livestock, plantations of commodities, and settlements.
  • The removal of trees resulted in damage to habitat, biodiversity loss and aridity.
Opposite of aforestation.
Cutting and burning down the trees on a large scale is known as deforestation
