It was introduced by our government on 8 Nov 2016 to demonitise the note of rupee of 500 and 1000. This led the 86 percent money back in circulation The aim of the demonitaisation was to curb corruption, counterfeiting the use of high demonitise notes and accumulation of black money in the economy.
