When the low resistance is provided by the circuit then tge flow of current increases heavily and the current is said to be short circuited When all the appliances of high power rating are switches on at the same time, they draw extremely large amount of current and it is said overloading Overloading is one of the cause of short circuiting

When live wire and neutral wire come in direct contact. This is called short circuiting the current in the circuit suddenly increases which can cause harm to the devices. This is called overloading.

Short circuiting: When the live and neutral wires comes into direct contact, resistance becomes almost zero and current in the circuit abruptly increases.Overloading: When a large number of high power appliances are switched on simultaneously, they draw extremely large current from the mains.
