Aqua regia(royal water) is freshly prepared mixture of concentrated hydrochloric acid and concentrated nitric acid in the ratio of 3:1. It can dissolve gold,even through neither of these acids can do so alone. It is highly corrosive, fuming liquid.

Aqua regia is a solution made by concentrated hydrochloric acid (HCL)and concentrated nitric acid (HNO3) in the ratio 3:1.It is used to remove impurities from lest reactive metals like gold, silver, etc. It is used by the goldsmiths to clean the golden and silver ornaments.
