Find the value of k for which x=2 is a solution of the equation kx2+2x-3=0
  • 1 answers

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 10 months ago

f(x) = kx2 + 2x - 3
put x = 2
f(2) = k(2)2 + 2(2)- 3
= 4k +4 - 3
= 4k + 1
If x = 2 is solution of given equation then f(2) = 0
4k + 1 = 0
4k = -1
k = -1/4
