Given A(3, 1), B(5, 1), C(a, b) and D(4, 3) are the vertices of parallelogram.
We know that, Diagonals of parallelogram bisect each other
{tex}\therefore{/tex} {tex}\left(\frac{3+a}{2}, \frac{1+b}{2}\right){/tex} = {tex}\left(\frac{5+4}{2}, \frac{1+3}{2}\right){/tex}
Equating x and y terms, we get
3 + a = 9 and 1 + b = 4
a = 6 and b = 3
Therefore, a = 6, b = 3
