Place a and b are 100km apart on a highway . One car starts from a and another from b at the same time.if the cars travel in the same direction at different speeds they meet in 5 hours .if they travel towards each other they meet in 1 hours .what are the speeds of the two cars

    Let speed of car a be x and speed of car b be y , speed = distance/ time = 100/5 = 20 and again 100/1= 100 , then car travel in same direction , x-y= 20 -----(i) and the car travel toward each other , x+y=100 -----(ii) then slove both equation and the answer is the peed of car a is 60 and the speed of car b is 40
