2x+3y=11_I 2x-4y=-24_II Subrtacting II from I 2x+3y=11 2x-4y=-24 - + + --------------- 7y=35 y=35/7 y=5 Put y=5 in I 2x+3y=11 2x+3(5)=11 2x+15=11 2x =11-15 2x =-4 x =-4/2 x=-2 Therefore,x=-2 y=5
