A rectangular solid metallic cuboid 18cm into 15cm into 4.5cm is melted and recast into solid cubes each of side 3cm. How many solid cubes can be made

    Given: 
    Length (l)= 18 cm
    Breadth (b)= 15 cm
    Height (h)= 4.5 cm


    Volume of metallic cuboid = l× b×h

    = 18 X 15 X 4.5 

    =1215 cm³

    Let the total no. of small cubes be x.

    volume of a cube = side ³ = a³ 

    = 3³ = 27cm³

    volume of a cube= 27 cm³

    No.of cubes = volume of cuboid/ volume of cube

    = 1215/27 = 45 

    Hence, 45 cubes can be made from the given metallic cuboid.
