Find the Roots of the equation x+√x-2=4
  • 1 answers

Gaurav Seth 6 years, 10 months ago

X + √(x - 2) = 4

√(x - 2) = 4 -x

take square Both sides

x - 2 = 16 -8x + x²

x² -9x +18 = 0

x² -6x -3x +18 =0

x(x -6) -3(x -6) =0

(x -6)(x -3) =0

x = 6 , 3

according to √(x - 2) and (4 -x) ≥0
x≥2 and x ≤4
so, x ≠ 6
only x = 3
