Given,

Ratio of the diameters = 2:3

Let the diameters be 2x and 3x

So, radii of the discs = 2x/2 and 3x/2

= x and 3x/2

Ratio of the area of the discs = πx² / π(3x/2)²

= πx² / π(3x/2)²

= 4x² / 9x²

= 4 / 9

= 4 : 9
