The Himalayas influence the Indian Climate in the following manner:
1) Himalayas act as natural barriers to the extremely cold winds from Central Asia and enables North India to have more or less uniform and comfortable temperatures.
2) They act as a barrier to the south west monsoon in summer and precipitates heavy rain on the country.
3) Most of the glaciers feeding the Indian rivers are located in the Himalayas.
4) Himalayas are the source of many perennial rivers and their tributaries.
