Linear equation: It is an algebraic equation in which each term has an exponent of one and the graphing of the equation results in a straight line.
Example of linear equation is y=mx + b and y = 4x + 3, in which the variables are of the first degree (that is, raised only to the first power). The graph of such an equation is a straight line.
