In Madras the planning was based on segregation like of white town and black town and different kind of forts that British constructed In Calcutta the planning was based on the defence and health . after the battle of plassey they constructed forts which could not be attacked so easily and the problem of insanitation also become one reason for planning For proper answer either consult ncert book or cbse notes
