Akbar has great interest in religion rights from the beginning. Initially he was an orthodox Muslim but gradually become liberal in his ideas. He abolished the tax on pilgrimage i.e. Karita. He built ibadatkhana at fatehpur sikri where people of different religion discussed differentcreligious matters. He also started a new religion called din-i-illahi. He compiled essence of all religion in this religion. All his Hindu wives were also free to practice their customs according to Hinduism. Employment was open to all religious communities.
