(1).They oppose the parties in power by voicing views, issue and critising government for its failure nd wrong policies. (2).They expose the weakness of the ruling party. (3).They also mobalise opposition to the government. (4).They keep a clo vigil on the bills nd expenditure of the government. (5).Ensure political parties in power does not misuse or abuse in power.

The opposition party plays a very important role in a democracy as (i) It acts as pressure group. (ii) It mobilises the government. (iii) It keeps a check on the working of the ruling party. (iv) It puts different views in the Parliament and criticise the go.
