Small Scale Industry Large Scale Industry
(i) These industries employ less number of persons and capital. (i) These industries employ a larger number of persons and capital.
(ii) Most of the work is done by manpower, small machines and tools. (ii) The work is done mostly by larger machines and laborers.
(iii) Raw materials used are less and the production is consequently less. (iii) Raw materials and used is large and there is mass production.
(iv) They are scattered in rural and urban areas and are in the pri­vate sector, e.g., cycle, T.V., radio. (iv) They are located in urban cen­tres and are in the public sec­tor or run by big industrialists, e.g., Cotton textiles, Jute textiles.
