The zeroth law is so named because it logically precedes the first and second laws of thermodynamics.
The zeroth law of thermodynamics is the basis for temperature measurement of a body or object. It defines the exchange of heat as well as defines the temperature. The law deals with the concepts used for designing the thermometer.
