Propene can be converted into acetone in two steps.

First step involves acid catalysed hydration of propene to form isopropyl alcohol.In this reaction carbocation is formed as an intermediate.

 

In second step, isopropyl alcohol is oxidised by suitable oxidising agent like acidified potassium dichromate to form acetone
