Red light however bright it is, cannot
produce the emission of electron from a clean zinc surface . But even weak ultraviolet radiation can do so. Why? X-RAY of wavelength falls on photo sensitive surface. Assuming that the work function of the surface can be neglected. Prove that the de Broglie wavelength of electron emitted will be √h×wavelength/2me

Electron emmision doesnot depend on intensity of light but on the frequency. As X ray have more frequency than red light so e emission takes place.
