Reasons for the disappearing of rainforest are:
a. Increased deforestation to meet the needs of Industrialisation and developmental activities.
b. The increase in population with that the growing demand for areas under cultivation.
c. Expansion of agriculture, slash and burn agriculture being practised by indigenous population.
d. Excessive cutting of trees for wood to make houses.
Forests have the following importance and value for us:
a. Forests , plants are important as they serve as the primary products on which other living beings depend and serve as basic food, fooder, raw materials for growth in the country.
b. Plants, forest cover play a major role in enhancing the quality of environment.
c. They modify the local climate, control soil erosion, provide products which have medicinal value, forests provide shelter to many communities, it is source of livelihood for many communities.
