since R is the mid point. PR : QR = 1:2 m:n=1: 2 By section formula R (x,y)=(mx2 +nx1÷m+n,my2+ny1÷m+n) =(1×-8+2×6÷1+2,1×6+2×-8÷1+2) =(-8+12÷3,6-16÷3) =(4÷3,-10÷3) Now,,x=4÷3,y=-10÷3 3x=4 ,3y=-10 =3x+4 eqn.1,=3y+10 eqn.2 Comparing eqn.1 and 2 =3x+4=3y+10 =3x-3y+4-10=0 =3x-3y-6=0 =-3(x+y+2)=0 -3 not equal to 0 =x+y+2=0 Hence Proved
