x = a , y = b
x - y = 2
a - b = 2....... (i)
x + y = 4
a + b = 4 ....... (ii)
Add (i) and (ii)
2a = 6
a = 6/2 = 3
But a = 3 in (ii)
3 + b = 4
b= 4 - 3
b = 1
So, a = 3 and b = 1
