This is because KCN is ionic in nature so bond formation can take place through both C and N atom but since C-C bonds are stronger than C-N bons thus bond is formed through C atom hence cynide are firmed whereas AgCN is covalent in nature hence only N atom can take part in bond formation hence bond is forned by N atom .
