Aldehydes are more reactive than ketones towards nucleophilic addition reactions due to the following factors:
1. Aldehydes are less sterically hindered as compared to ketones.
2. Aldehydes are more reactive as compared to ketones due to factors like hyperconjugation.
3. Carbonyl group in an aldehyde is more polar than the carbonyl group of ketones.
