Bifocal Lens: Bifocal lenses are used for persons suffering from presbyopia, or myopia and hypermetropia. A bifocal lens consists of both convex lens to correct hypermetropia and concave lens to correct myopia. A person suffering from hypermetropia cannot see nearby objects, but can see objects placed beyond the near point. But a person with presbyopia can see only very distant objects.

The lens which has both concave and convex mirror is known as bifocal lens. It is used by the person who is suffering from presbyopia because the person has both myopia and hypermetropia which needs concave and conbex lens as their corrections.
