Bifocal Lens: Bifocal lenses are used for persons suffering from presbyopia, or myopia and hypermetropia. A bifocal lens consists of both convex lens to correct hypermetropia and concave lens to correct myopia. A person suffering from hypermetropia cannot see nearby objects, but can see objects placed beyond the near point. But a person with presbyopia can see only very distant objects.
