Why can we not measure AC by an oridnary ammeter

    We cannot measure ac because it is varing current it doesn't show a particular value for example if its peak value is 5A then it will be varing as 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1 0 -1 -2 -3 -4 -5 -4 -3 -2 -1 same as sine function -ve symbol indicates the reverse direction of current.
